Meet Our Physician and Nurse-Midwife
Nathan C. Ward, MD has been in practice since 1992. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He did his residency training through the U.S. Air Force and served as a staff physician for the U.S. Air Force for 13 years.
As a specialist in women’s healthcare, Dr. Ward is able to treat high risk pregnancies, infertility, and all types of gynecological problems. He has an emphasis on pelvis reconstructive surgery for women who suffer from pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. For women who suffer from abnormally heavy periods (menorrhagia), Dr. Ward offers in-office endometrial ablation, a one-time, safe, simple procedure with a quick recovery time.
After living in many different parts of the country he left the USAF as a lieutenant Colonel and moved with his family back to Utah. He and his wife and seven children now reside in Bountiful.
Dr. Ward is affiliated with Lakeview Hospital.
Nancie J. Mooy, CNM received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1980, and her Master’s degree in Nurse-Midwifery in 1990, from the University of Utah. She is certified in Nurse-Midwifery by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has worked in women’s health care for 25 years. She loves helping women have babies. She also provides gynecological services including: annual exams, pre-marital exams, treatment for infections, birth control counseling, prescriptions, placement of IUDs, treatment for menstrual problems, peri and post menopausal counseling, and hormone replacement therapy. She refers clients to an Obstetrician/Gynecologist or other specialist if needed.
When asked what she would like to tell women she said this, “I hope that I listen to women, and always provide the information they need to make informed, educated decisions about their healthcare”.
Dr. Ward, Dr. Mears, and Nancie Mooy are all affiliated with Lakeview Hospital, part of the MountainStar family of hospitals. Dr. Ward is also affiliated with LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
